WKT in the third family generation

As a family-run company in its third generation, we create innovation from tradition. Since 1954, we have always kept up with the changing times. Since then, our strategy has not been to maximise profits in the short term, but to strive for long-term success and continuous improvement.

The basis for this is our permanent innovation, our ability to recognise industry trends at an early stage and our constant striving for particularly good quality. All our planning and actions are focused on our customers, their wishes and needs. In order to meet these, we find individual, custom-fit solutions. Everything else is the personal enthusiasm of each and every one of us to always deliver the best. As a family, we stand behind our company with complete conviction and are reliable companions for all our business partners. Then, now and in the future.

Focus on customer needs, quality as a matter of course.

Our employees are our most important asset.

For decades, we have therefore not relied on corporate structures, but on a cooperative, family-like corporate culture here at our location in Sprockhövel. Teamwork and esteem are written in capital letters in all areas of our company.

Because we are always aware of one thing: all our innovations, customised solutions and achievements are only possible thanks to our employees, their know-how and their above-average commitment.

History

1954

1954

In a one-time coach-building works in Hammertal, Horst Zimmermann founded in co-operation with the family-owned Rudolf Hausherr & Söhne GmbH & Co. KG the plastic pipe production. Using an extruder from the company Koch in Siegen (HKS 45), PVC pipes and hoses were manufactured for coal and salt mining.

1955

1955

On 22nd March 1955, the “Kunststofffabrik” became the present company Westfälische Kunststofftechnik GmbH. Already at the plastic exhibition in Düsseldorf - the later “K” Fair- the diverse products of the WKT were introduced to an interested audience.

1959

1959

In 1959, the excellent order-book situation made it possible to purchase a former hosiery factory in Sprockhövel. By means of this object and the building of new halls, space was created for further expansion of production. The first twin-screw extruder guaranteed even more high-quality pipes made of PVC - an additional extruder made it possible to produce larger pipe diameters.

1962

1962

In 1962, WKT made further investments. The production hall was extended in order to create space for new extruder lines.

1967

1967

The office building which had become too small is further extended in order to be able to hire new sales staff.

1968

1968

WKT continues to invest further. So the production hall is again extended in order to be able to integrate new extruder lines with longer cooling lines. The first PVC silo and a new mixing plant were set up.
